2012 Gibson SG Special - Melody Maker TV Yellow Custom

TV yellow melody maker style SG  - enough said.

This is not your typical 2012  Gibson SG Special. Gibson ceased production of the original single coil  pickup SG shaped Melody Makers in the last 60's. Any what a shame too. Hands down one of their coolest looking and sounding guitars of all time. No other guitar sounds like them. So here we have an a modern recreation inspired by those very special guitars. 

As with all our in-house customised guitars - we only customise/ build guitars that we love and wish were factory produced but either are not or not any more.

This model is a passion and specialty of ours. Where time permits and in very limited numbers we will continue to produce these Melody Makers using Gibson SG Specials as the base.

All our custom guitars come with a West End Vintage and Custom Guitars hard case with serial numbered plaque on the case.

• Body refinished in Nitrocellulose (Wicked Witch TV Yellow)
• Stopbar delete
• Single pickup single coil conversion (8-9k custom pickup)
• Redundant control body holes delete
• Vibrola added
• Wraparound bridge added
• Custom cut pickguard with copper shielding backing
• Control and pickup cavity copper shielded 

Please note: All customised guitars started their journey with us as used instruments and are not without scratches, bumps, imperfections etc. Please refer to photos.
