Gretsch Guitars

Although the Gretsch company was around in the late 1800s, it wasn’t until the 1930s that they really started any serious commercial guitar production. The guitar’s distinctive sound is a peculiarly American one, it’s first associations being with guitar greats like Chet Atkins.
Brian Setzer was probably the most recent big name to really closely tie himself in with the brand, and really cement it is the guitar of choice for the serious traditional rockabilly.
They sound great, but they look even better – which is probably one of the reasons why can’t pick them up for a ‘song’. Still if you are after that authentic sound, there’s not really any substitute. Anyway take a look, you never know when someone might put one up for a few bucks without realising what it is! Good luck.
