Well, Pawn Stars bought Les Paul’s cream 1961 Gibson SG, that’s why they spent big. Not often do you get the chance to buy a Gibson Les Paul that was owned by the man who made it famous, but that’s exactly the chance that the Pawn Stars team got and they took it.
The historic vintage guitar was being sold by the nephew of singer Mary Ford, who is Paul’s ex wife, and it was accompanied by paperwork documenting Paul’s relationship with Gibson, a relationship that blew hot and cold at the best of times. So, Pawn Stars really were buying a piece of musical history and at a princely sum too. They paid $90,000 for the historic Gibson Les Paul, a price that the nephew was adamant about before he entered the shop.
So, the nephew got $90,000 and the Pawn Stars team got their hands on one of the very instruments that were played by the legendary Les Paul.
